Reducing fleet vehicle emissions

FleetWise was a NSW Government program to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants from passenger and light commercial vehicles. The FleetWise program ended in December 2012.

The program targeted NSW based businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and local councils that had 20 or more fleet vehicles.

The program helped organisations reduce fleet emissions by providing:

  • information on low emissions fleet management practices
  • information on vehicle procurement, emerging vehicle technologies, and options to reduce vehicle travel
  • access to innovative tools to measure emissions and model the impact of altering various aspects of a fleet
  • expert advice on how to develop a low emissions fleet strategy.

FleetWise was a Clean Air, Healthy Communities initiative, assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust. It is administered by the Office of Environment and Heritage.
