FleetWise was a NSW Government program to reduce fleet emissions. The FleetWise program ended in December 2012.
FleetWise benefits included lower fleet costs from saving fuel and also a smaller carbon footprint.
Participants received assistance from the Office of Environment and Heritage on measuring and progressively reducing their fleet emissions. There was also training available on how to progressively reduce emissions. Potential measures to cut emissions include:
- buying vehicles with lower average fuel consumption
- adopting practices that use an existing fleet more efficiently
- replacing some vehicle travel with more sustainable forms of transport.
The benefits of taking part included lower fuel costs and a smaller carbon footprint. Any reduction in fuel use also reduces emissions of harmful VOCs, NOx and particles.
